The best brake controller we offer that will easily fit your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 that you mentioned. The P3 has the most advanced inertia sensor which allows it to give you best braking action for your trailer and allows a bit more flexibility in how it can be mounted. It also has a full screen display that uses full words instead of codes that have to be deciphered and also allows you to save trailer presets.
To install it all you need is the install harness part # 3016 which plugs into the port under your dash. I attached an install video for this controller and harness installed in a 2014 Silverado 1500 just like yours for you to check out as well.
