I checked with B&W for you and the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W is 14-1/2" from the center of the hitch post to the front (cab-side) of the hitch when in the first position. To install this hitch in your 2012 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty you will need the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1111-5W.
This is a great choice as the Companion is considered by many to be the leading fifth wheel hitch in the industry. The reason for that is its robust jaw system, which are an inch thick and wrap completely around your kingpin and its cushioned bushings that create the most comfortable towing experience possible.
As a note, if you do need to add fifth wheel wiring I recommend the Pollak 5th Wheel / Gooseneck T-Connector with 7-Pole # PK11893-11932.
I have added links to videos for you to check out on these products as well.
