To convert the 4-pole flat trailer connector on your Suburban to a 7-way, you will need an adapter like part # 37185.
Assuming that the brakes on the trailer are electric, you will also need a brake controller, like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. You will also need a brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7. The install kit will include everything needed to install a brake controller, even the adapter I mentioned above.
I will link you to the instructions for the Brake Controller Install Kit, as well as an install video showing the install kit being used to install a brake controller on a 1993 Suburban. The procedure for your 1994 model would be identical.
You will also want to make sure that the weight of the trailer does not exceed the towing capacity of the lowest rated component of your towing system.
