Wiring Harness for 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty with Plug at Spare Tire Location
Question:
2003 F-350 super duty. Truck has no 7 or 4 way plug on back. Must never have had it installed as an option. There is however a harness plug that’s up under by spare tire. It is open and available. I assume this is meant to have something plugged into it. I see one on here that looks like it would fit, but it says it’s not a fit for 2003 even though the harness looks to match the end I need. The 2003 doesn’t have the big fuse box under hood like my 99 did so maybe that’s why? Since the kit comes with two relays and 2 fuses. Not sure if I’d need those. I just want to be able to plug in my camperbwitjout having to splice or cut anything. Please help!

Helpful Expert Reply:
The plug you have by your spare tire is the correct wiring harness for you to add a 4-way like # C55265. Your truck shouldn't require any any extra fuses or relays. For a 7-way you should be able to use the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 40167 which would also allow you to add that before mentioned 4-way as well.
The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way # 118242 you asked from was only for light duty trucks but it does have the same connector.
