Is Flashing Required To Install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 on a 2019 Ram 1500
Question:
I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab and I was looking into your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional that was recommended. If I were to purchase the brake controller and additional wiring piece, will I need to get it flashed in order to work?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 when paired with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3024-P on your 2019 Ram 1500 will not require any flashing/reprogramming so long as you don't have a factory integrated brake controller (ITBC). If you do have a factory integrated brake controller (ITBC) they yes, you will need to take your truck to the dealer to have them flash/reprogram this out of the system.
The Prodigy P3 is our best selling brake controller because of its reliability. It has a lifetime warranty and can easily be transferred from vehicle to vehicle. The major benefits of this brake controller are that it has integrated safeguards to protect your vehicle, trailer, and the controller. It also has a customizable LCD display which is easy to use, more so than most standard brake controllers of its kind.
I have attached a photo that shows where the port you will need to connect the harness to is located.
