Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
My 2017 tacoma SR5 did not come with the towing package. Can you provide the part number for a trailer wiring harness and brake controller? Thanks

The brake controller I recommend for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma is the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 because this brake controller senses the amount of braking your tow vehicle is applying and puts a proportional amount of braking on the trailer's brakes. It also has a display that uses full words instead of codes that would have to be deciphered. It's our best selling brake controller because of how well it works, how reliable it is, and how easy it is to use.
To install this controller in your 2017 Toyota Tacoma would then require just the install harness part # 3031-P. Your truck should have come with a 7-way at the rear of it as to our knowledge every 2017 Tacoma came with this option. Check the rear of your vehicle for a socket like the part # PK11893 and let me know if you don't have this.
