Why Would Prodigy Brake Controller Show Numbers on Display All the Time without Trailer
Question:
My prodigy P2 is displaying numbers when I brake even when I do not have a trailer connected. Is this normal?

Your Prodigy P2 part # 90885 is displaying numbers on it's display as it thinks a trailer is connected. This is almost always caused by corrosion on the brake output circuit of your 7-way. The corrosion puts a small draw on the circuit which basically tricks the controller into thinking a trailer is connected and that any time you apply the vehicle brakes a trailer is in need of it's brakes being applied as well.
Try cleaning the pins of your 7-way first and you'll most likely see this issue go away. Sometimes it can be caused from corrosion on the back of the connector as well. I also attached a help article on brake controller troubleshooting as well.
