Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2000 Mazda Miata
Question:
My Hard dog 1.25inch receiver is recessed about 5inch from the inside bumper. 9inch to outside of bumper. Will the TowReady 3 bike rack #63123 allow enough clearance on this car? My current bike rack has a brace which begins to rise at about 6.5inch and clears the bumper by about 1.

The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR measures 13-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar in the 1-1/4 inch configuration. This bike rack will fit your class I , 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. However, you will only be able to carry 2 bikes, not the 4 that the rack could hold. It is extremely important that you stick with this 2-bike limit.
You might want to instead consider a bike rack that will fit a Class I hitch and that holds 2 bikes, I recommend the Curt # C18085. This light weight rack measures 12.5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar. I have included a link to a video for you.
