7-Way Wiring and Brake Controller for 2017 Chevrolet Express 3500 15 Passenger Van

Question:

Trying to find a harness to connect for trailer wiring. The van has the tow package and I see the Blue wire behind the parking brake indicating the wire are already run to the back. On the drivers side just inside the bumper is a pigtail/harness that I assume is the connection for trailer harness. It has a wide connector on the end, 1 is this the wire harness for trailers? 2 do you have a simple connector to get this done?

If your Express 3500's connector near the bumper resembles the round U.S. Car type connector in the photo I linked then this will be the trailer tow package connector you will use to plug in a 7-way trailer socket like # A10-7072VP or # HM40975.

With or without the tow package wiring you can still install a 7-way using the kit # ETBC7 you referenced along with a 4-pole harness # 118392 which plugs in at the tail lights. This setup will be independent of any factory wiring and it will provide a fully-functioning 7-way. These parts also serve to allow installation of a wired trailer brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR or the Prodigy P3 # 90195.

If you're interested in a wireless brake controller setup that does not require you to mount anything on the dash you can accomplish this using similar kit # ETBC7L along with the 4-pole # 118392 and then use the Curt Echo # C51180. The Echo simply plugs into your 7-way and all you need to do is pair it to your smartphone. No other parts or wiring are needed. Please check out the linked videos to see how the Echo works.
