Load Assist Recommendation for Kayak Carrier on 2013 Subaru Impreza

Question:

Mt70231 extender with Brophy 11/4 to 2 adapter. Would like to use this combo ok as a load assist on my 2013 Subaru Impreza wagon to assist me load an 85 lb kayak on my roof. Plan to adjust extender so its maybe halfway between the bumper and roof line put kayak on extender then shove onto roof. Then adjust extender again so its supporting back end of kayak once its on the roof. Does this sound reasonable?

I think you might be best served with the Rhino-Rack Universal Load Assist # RR-RUSL instead of trying to use a hitch adapter with the MaxxTow. The Rhino Rack adapter can fit Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero, Euro, and Heavy-Duty crossbars; Whispbar Flush, Through, Rail, and HD crossbars; and Thule AeroBlade and square crossbars and is designed to give you something to rest the kayak on to help lift it onto the bars.
