Will the Curt Echo Work with a 2006 Ford F-150 with the Factory Tow Package
Question:
The truck has the 7 pin from the factory, transmission oil cooler, etc... What do I need to make this item work for us. Is power already led to the 7 pin? If not, do you have info on how to connect it or, better yet, a video? This is the only thing keeping me from buying this item now

Expert Reply:
If the 7-Way on your 2006 Ford F-150 is from the factory then the 12V Power Pin in the 1 o'clock position should already be active. You can verify this by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2991 or a multimeter like part # PTW1714 to make sure there is constant power there. Some vehicle require that the key be in the on position for power to be sent to the 7-Way so if you initially don't have power try going that route. Let me know if you still don't have power and I can help you troubleshoot that.
Since this is the case you should be able to just plug in the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 and be ready to get it setup! Just be mindful of the following Smart device OS requirements:
Apple: 8.0 or newer
Android: 4.4 and newer
Attached is a review video for you to check out as well.
