Recommendation to Replace Landing Gear on 2006 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2006 Keystone Cougar 34foot 5th-wheel. When I raise the landing gear up high enough to pull the truck out. The landing gear makes noise like its skipping a tooth or something like that. Im thinking I need to replace the landing gear. Please advise.

To replace the landing gear system on your 2006 Keystone Cougar I recommend taking a look at the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-3. This is a really nice system that features electric-powered adjustment for easy operation and heavy-duty steel construction that will hold up great over time. It has a combined weight capacity of 6,500 pounds.

The outer tube of the landing gear legs measure 29-1/2 inches tall with weld stops that are spaced apart 15-1/2 inches inside to inside. You can compare this to your current set to see if you will be able to bolt them up to your existing brackets. Otherwise you will just need to cut them off and weld on the new brackets that come with this system.

I have attached the written installation instructions that you can also take a look at.
