Bike Carrier for 2012 Honda Fit Sport with Roof Spoiler
Question:
Is this rack compatible with a 2012 honda fit sport? Mine has a roof spoiler.

The plastic roofline spoiler on the 2012 Honda Fit Sport makes trunk-mount bike racks a bad option since this vehicle feature is likely to be damaged by the weight of a loaded bike rack. The excellent Thule OutWay 2-Bike Platform Rack # TH65JV without bikes on it weighs about 28-lbs. Load two typical 30-lb bikes and you see what I mean about the load that spoiler.
For your Fit Sport the only good bike carrier option is a hitch mount type which of course requires you to bolt a hitch onto the car's frame. We have several hitch options for your Fit which differ in price and in how they install. Some are easier than others to install.
The easiest installation comes with the Curt # C11064. If you're going to install one of the hitches we offer, all shown on the linked page, this is the one I recommend. You can see it installed in the linked photo.
For a competent DIY person this will take a bit over an hour. All the hardware comes with the hitch as do detailed instructions. These instructions are linked along with a complete install video so you can see what's involved before you buy the hitch. If you are not the handy type your local trusted auto shop will do the install. An experienced installer should be able to do the job in one hour or less.
Sometimes the specific type of bikes will make one rack a better choice than another. If you care to tell me about your two bikes I can zero in on the best option for your budget,.
With this 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch installed you can use a 2-bike Class I rack. For heavy electric bikes I really like Thule's EasyFold # TH903202. This exceptional carrier is versatile and packed with features and it carries a corresponding price.
Swagman's XTC-2 carrier # S64670 offers a quality platform rack at a friendly price point.
