Where to Find Stoplight Circuit for Installing Brake Controller in 2011 Chevy Equinox

Question:

I’m trying to locate a place to pick up the brake cold lead for a brake controller on a 2011 Equinox. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

On a 2011 Chevy Equinox you cannot tap into the brake light switch to install a brake controller. You have to get the signal from the BCM (body control module). It is located up under the dash to the left of the brake pedal. There is a 26-pin connector. You need the wire in position 11. It should be a white wire.
