Can Rock Guard be Used in Front of 2019 Chevy Colorado Being Flat Towed

Question:

Have read that you cannot use a shield in front of a Chevy Colorado, lack of air may damage transmission. Do you know anything regarding this?

I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2019 Chevy Colorado and on page 315 of the online version it states "Use of a shield mounted in front of the vehicle grille guard could restrict airflow and cause damage to the transmission ... If using a shield, only use one that attaches to the towing vehicle."

Due to this I strongly recommend using the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4750 which has a mesh screen to protect the front of your Colorado and still provide air to flow through, as you can see by the accompanying photo.

The Tow Defender # RM-4750 will fit all Roadmaster motorhome-mounted tow bars such as the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-677, along with Demco tow bars like the Demco Excali-Bar Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511013 so long as your Colorado has Demco base plates like the Demco # DM9519319, and Blue Ox tow bars so long as your Colorado has Blue Ox base plates.

I've added links to a couple video reviews of the Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4750 for you to take a look at.
