Brake Controller Recommendation for 1992 Fleetwood Jamboree Searcher
Question:
I have a 1992 Fleetwood Jamboree Searcher motorhome built on a Ford E350 chassis C-class motorhome with van front. I recently bought a utility trailer with electric brakes on one axle. I would like to install a brake controller in the motorhome. What brake controller would you recommend and what wiring harness or other connectors would I need. Thanks!

Brake controllers are not vehicle-specific so you can choose one that provides the features you want and that is compatible with your trailer's type of brakes. An excellent option is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This reliable and popular choice is highly-rated by our customers because it is easy to set up and operate. It also has the flexibility to work with both electric or electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes.
Installation will require a brake controller installation kit # ETBC7. This kit includes a 7-way socket, wiring, connectors and everything needed to do a wired installation. I have linked a video and article covering installation. This requires you to have a 4-way connector at the rear of your trailer currently. For that you'd want the # 119250KIT if you are in need of that as well.
