Release Handle on B&W Turnoverball Will Not Stay Engaged
Question:
I have a 2008 Chevy 3500 drw with the BandW turnover ball my problem is now the release rod for the ball wont stay in the release position to allow me to turn the ball . I haven’t yet slid under the truck to check it but was just wondering if you had some ideas of what to possibly look for when I do . Thanks

I spoke to my contact at B&W about the issues you are having with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit part # BWGNRK1067 on your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. They informed me that the spring that encompasses the release handle is worn out which means the threshold that is needed for the handle to hold in position is compromised. In order to fix the issue B&W said to cut a few coils out of the release spring that the handle sits inside.
If the above process does not fix your issue once completed then please just let me know and I would be happy to provide additional troubleshooting advice for you.
