Stay-In-Play DUO Braking System Installation in Vehicle That Requires Battery Disconnection
Question:
I have a Ford Edge and Want to follow the manufacture’s directive to disconnect the battery while while flat towing. The supplemental breaking system in this scenario is the Stay-n-play duo. While the battery is disconnected how would I provide power for the braking system? Thanks for all your help.

In a vehicle like your 2018 Ford Edge that directs you to disconnect the battery when flat towing the car, the SMI Stay-In-Play Duo # SM99251 monitor light will install with its RED wire attached to the blue wire that goes between the breakaway switch and the operating unit. This step is covered in the linked instructions on page 7.
