How To Add a 5-Way Trailer Connector to a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse
Question:
The boat I will be towing with my new hitch has surge brakes. I need a 5 pole connector so when I back up and the reverse lights come on it disengages the surge brakes allowing you to back up without engaging the brakes. What harness would you recommend?

In order to add a 5-way trailer connector to your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse I recommend using a combination of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118271 along with the Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter part # A10-7275VP. The Tekonsha harness listed about is a direct plug and play option that comes with all of the fuses and relays that you will need if your Traverse does not have them or did not come with the factory tow package. This is also the most reliable wiring harness we have available for you.
They do not offer a direct plug and play 5-way trailer connector for your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse which is why you need to use an adapter. In order to secure the above trailer connector you will also need the No-Drill Bracket part # C57202 and the Mounting Bracket for 7-Way part # 18138. I have attached an install/review video for you as well.
