Solution for Needing to Find Brake Light Signal on Vehicle without Circuit at Brake Pedal
Question:
Where do I splice the red wire frim the controller, the Rv has air brakes and there is no visible switch unless it is beneath the floor. Am I able to use one of the tail lights?

When hardwiring in a brake controller the red wire needs to go to a circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied. Typically this is found at the brake pedal switch, but if you can't find the circuit there you could use a third brake light signal that only illuminates when the brakes are applied.
Another option is to install the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000 which will give you the signal at the brake pedal. If you are using the Curt Echo part # C51180 that you referenced though you would not need to tie into the stoplight circuit as it is designed to decipher the taillight signals of a 7-way and know when the tow vehicle is applying the brakes.
