Brake Controller Recommendation for 2014 Land Rover LR4
Question:
I have a 2014 Land Rover LR4. I have 2 questions. What brake controller do you recommend and is one even required to operate the brakes of a trailer?

You do have to have a brake controller installed in your 2014 Land Rover LR4 to operate the brakes of your trailer. Without one installed the brakes will not activate at all.
The brake controller I recommend is the Curt Echo part # C51180. This controller is the easiest to install of all the controllers we offer and works great as well. All you have to do to install it is plug it into the 7-way you have at the back of your vehicle and then sync your smartphone to it with Bluetooth. This is a proportional controller too which means that it senses the amount of braking your tow vehicle applies and puts a proportional of braking power on the trailer's brakes. This gives you the smoothest and most effective braking action possible. Check out the review video I attached for more info as well.
