Does Curt Hitch C13171 Installation on 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited Require Cutting Rear Fascia
Question:
For a 2019 Cherokee Limited do you have to cut anything around the housing for the hitch to fit? It says it may require this but I want to make sure. Did it need to be cut on the model shown in the pictures?

We have three 2-inch hitches for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee but one in particular, Curt # C13171, will NOT require trimming of the Limited's rear fascia trim panel. This hitch also installs without drilling on the Limited. I spoke to my technical contact at Curt who confirmed that they just recently did an install of this hitch on your exact vehicle and no permanent modifications are necessary!
Apart from bolting the hitch on the only steps required are to temporarily loosen some underbody panels to give you more working space but none require cutting or trimming. The written instructions are linked along with a complete install video and help article.
With this 2-inch hitch installed you can tow using a wiring harness # C56406 and a ball mount kit like # C45036, or you can install a 2-inch hitch type bike carrier like the Thule EasyFold # TH903202 which is a great carrier for heavier bike like electrics or beach cruisers.
