Availability of Locking Door Latch for a 1994 Wells Cargo Trailer
Question:
I have a 1994 Wells Cargo trailer with an old Versch locking paddle latch with the gray plastic bezels on both inside and outside of the door hole theyre cracked/broken. The opening is 5 x 6 1/2 inches, the door is 1 1/4 inches thick. It seems there are no latches out there to fit such a big hole but the metal latch part doesnt seem too much bigger than what you show on your site Thanks for any help,

The largest locking paddle latch we offer is the Paddle Handle Locking Latch w/ Release part # PLR5115 which measures to be 5-1/2" long x 4-1/4" wide and installs in an opening at least 4-5/8" long x 3-3/8" wide. In order to make this latch work for you, you would need to fill in part of the opening until there is a place for the flange on the Paddle Handle Locking Latch w/ Release to grab onto. Unfortunately, this will be the only option we have for you as we do not have any paddle latches large enough to cover your opening.
