If you use a weight distribution system (WD) with Curt Class III hitch # C86HR the hitch's maximum gross trailer weight rating increases from 6K to 10K, and its tongue weight (TW) rating increases from 900-lbs to 1000-lbs. These weight capacities increase with WD since the load on the hitch is better shared between the two axles. This hitch fits the 2015 - 2019 Ford F-150 and the 2017 - 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor without a factory hitch.
If you have a different hitch you'll want to check its safety sticker to confirm it is rated for use with weight distribution. The sticker will also tell you the resulting capacity when you use a system like the Fastway # FA94-00-0800.
The way to select a correctly-rated WD system is knowing the actual tongue weight of the fully-loaded trailer, along with the weight of any cargo in the truck that sits behind the rear axle, such as a generator. We offer scale # e99044 to make measuring TW easy. This combined weight is the key to picking out a system that will do the job. Ideally your total weight figure will fall near the middle of the system's operating range. You may want to refer to the article and video I linked for more on selecting a WD system.
For instance, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution system # FA94-00-0800 that you looked at is rated for total TW from 400- to 800-lbs, so it would be perfect if your TW were to be about 500- to 700-lbs. This setup comes complete with everything but the hitch ball, such as the 2-5/16-inch ball # 63840, or another size ball that has a 1-1/4-inch shank diameter. A thin-wall 1-7/8-inch socket like # ALL643216 will make hitch ball installation easier.
