Recommended Hardware to Attach the Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch
Question:
How are these latches mounted. Carriage bolts dont sit flush and the only other thing I can think of is a allen/socket bolt because theyre more rare but those can still be loosened from the outside. Rivets? Any advice would be appreciated.

The Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch part # L3980 can be mounted with a variety of different types of hardware. As you mentioned, pop rivets or carriage bolts would be the most secure. You could also use something like the Long Black Torx Wall Liner Screw part # WLS100 as torx bits are more of a speciality tool. The correct bit for this screw is part # TX425. If you have a metal door you could weld it on as well.
