Compatibility of 5th Airborne Sidewinder and 20K B&W Companion for Ford Super Duty Pickups
Question:
I own a 2004 f350 with 8 foot bed and a 2019 f250 with a 6 3/4 foot bed. Both trucks have the BandW turnover goose neck ball system installed. My trailer is a jayco designer legacy, 2004 with a goose neck conversion the dealer installed when purchased. I want to put an air ride/cushioned hitch on the trailer. I think my pin box is a Leland 7910 from the measurements. Can I put a 5th airborne air ride with with sidewinder and turret king pin on the trailer and a BandW companion goose neck to fifth wheel adapter on the truck?

I have a solution for you, but the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 is not compatible with any Sidewinder like part # ST400-5AS16K or other rotating pin box because there will be too much torque on the gooseneck receiver since the front of the Sidewinder is held in place by the 5th wheel hitch. You could lockout the Sidewinder so that you can have the air ride but you wouldn't be able to safely use the rotating turret. B&W actually has an orange label on the head of every Companion stating that it cannot be used with this type of pin box.
For your application you can use the 5th Airborne Premium # ST400-5AS16K and pick up the Companion Slider Base, # BWRVB3405, to use with your 2019 F-250 so you have plenty of turning clearance. This is really the only combination that will give you exactly what you are learning for as far as upgrading your pin box and using your B&W gooseneck hitch in your new truck. You will need to lockout the rotating turret though which you can see how to do in the instructions.
Attached are some review videos for you to check out as well as dimensions of the Glide Ride for you to reference.
