Is the Reese Elite Puck System for Chevy the Same Exact Configuration as the OEM GM Puck System?

Question:

Is the Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868 the same exact configuration as the stock GM puck system? The reason I ask is because while reading one of the reviews all of which were positive one person made a comment like he wished you guys would have told him that he couldnt use a hitch made for the GM system and that he would have to use one made for a Ford. I am putting it on a 2019 Chev Silverado 3500. I suppose that at the end of the day, it doesnt really matter so long as I know which adapters etc I need to order, right?? Thank you!

The Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868 are not the same puck configuration as the Factory GM puck system. However, they are in the same configuration as the Ford Factory puck System, so even if the Elite underbed system is used on a Chevy like the # RP30868 is intended for, you would use the 5th wheel hitch compatible with Ford OEM pucks for the perfect fit.

So for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500, the Reese Elite rail kit # RP30868 is compatible. Then you will use the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs # RP30156 or the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ford OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 25,000 lbs # DM6175 to give you the ability to use an industry standard 5th wheel hitch.

The other option is to use a hitch designed specifically for the puck locations like the B&W # BWRVK3305 or sliding hitch for short bed # BWRVK3370. If you have a specific hitch you'd like compatibility info on, let me know.
