Larger Roof Cargo Basket Recommendation for 2010 Mercedes Benz GL450 with Thule Rack
Question:
Hi, I have a 2010 MBZ 450 GL. It has side rails and I have cross bars that I use with a Thule carrier. Am looking to purchase a roof basket. What is the max amount of weight I can put on the roof? Will be moving out of state and would like to make several trips with the car packed as full as possible. Do you have any suggestions for the basket? Thanks.

You need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to find the roof capacity listed. I wasn't able to find an online copy of your manual otherwise I'd check it. For a larger roof basket that would fit well on the Thule roof rack you have the Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT-8591XT would work great. It measures 69" Long x 40" Wide x 6" Deep and has a 150 lb weight capacity.
