Does Trailer Back Up Assist of 2016 Ford XLT F150 2WD Affect Install of Brake Controller
Question:
Ready to order a Tekonsha # 90885 with wiring harness #22292. This truck came with a “Pro trailer back up assist” that has a control knob installed just above the cubby where the optional plug for brake controls resides. My question is: Does the pro trailer back up assist use the wire plug intended for an optional brake controller? Want to make sure before I order the parts and remove the dash per the instructional video. Much appreciated,

The trailer back up assist feature that your 2016 Ford F-150 would not be affected by the install of a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 that you referenced with the correct install harness part # 22292 for your truck. The controller adapter basically will just plug right in and the controller will be ready to go.
