Troubleshooting Tail Light Flashing with Flexo-Coil Kit Installed on 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I installed the Roadmaster 7 to 6 pin towing wiring harness in my new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. I followed the instructions on your site to the letter and all has been working well until today. Suddenly, the top half of the brake light on my passenger side taillight is flashing after turning the vehicle off. The small display directly in front of the steering wheel comes flashes on and off every 30 seconds or so as well. Literally just started after a quick run to the store this afternoon. I also have the charge line kit installed. A little more information: I pulled a trailer with the Jeep for the first time over the weekend. It was a 500 mile trip. Have no idea if the two are related. Can you help?

Start off by checking the 6-Way connector at the front of your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited. Be sure that none of the wires are touching any wires next to it which would allow power to jump from one circuit to the other.
If that looks good then the next step is to troubleshoot the diodes that come with the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. Since the problem is only happening to one side simply remove the diode on the circuit that is messing up and swap it with one on the other side that is working. If this shows that the diode is bad then it can easily be replaced with part # RM-790.
After this the only other thing to do would be to trace all of the wiring from the kit and find places where it might be bent or damaged and replace. If that doesn't fix the problem then you would need to take your Jeep in to a shop and have them check around as well.
