Trailer Hitch Fit for 2019 Ram 1500 Classic and New Body

Question:

Im not understanding this. The Hitch on this truck which is a NEW RAM 1500 looks nothing like the part number Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2 I dont like to see the entire bar at the bottom. Im stumped on this. I looked at my Hitch and removed the rubber cap in the center. It is NOT bolted on and this looks to just a place to put a 2ball and the factory hitch is welded on. Would appreciate your thoughts, Ill be calling the dealer tomorrow thanks

The etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98852 is only a fit for 2019 Ram 1500 Classics that do not have a factory hitch.

If you do not have a 1500 Classic and instead have the new style of 2019 Ram 1500 then the trailer hitch that will fit is the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C15005 which is a Class V hitch with a 2 inch receiver.

I have added a link to a video of the etrailer.com hitch being installed on a Ram 1500 so you can see how it is done as well as links to the installation instructions of each hitch for you to check out.

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41913 that fits your new body style of 2019 Ram 1500 will require your factory hitch to be removed. According to the linked manual for the Draw-Tite hitch, the factory hitch is bolted on; you will remove those bolts and use them to install the new Draw-Tite hitch. As for how it looks, the crosstube is going to show underneath the bumper; there is a photo in the aforementioned linked instructions of this hitch on a Ram which shows this.
