Maintenance of Dexter Nev-R-Lube Bearings on Airstream Trailer

Question:

I have approx. 30,000 miles on my Airstream with the never lube bearings. Should I be concerned about wear and can the bearing be repacked with grease or should it be replaced?

The Dexter Nev-R-Lube Bearings like the 50MM Nev-R-Lube Bearing for 8,000-lb Dexter Axles - Qty 1 # 31-71-3 are not to be lubed or greased. They are pre-lubricated at the factory and have a 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty as long as serviced by a Dexter tech (2-year warranty if serviced by independent tech). They are designed to be maintenance free so if they go bad, you will need to replace the bearing. It sounds like you will have a lot of life left with only 30,000 miles on your trailer.

When replacing, you will also want to replace the Outer Snap Ring for Nev-R-Lube Bearing Kit 31-71-3 # 69-96 and Inner Snap Ring for Nev-R-lube Bearing Kit # 69-93. You will not even grease the spindle when replacing the Nev-R-Lube bearing.
