Selecting Factory-Style or Aftermarket-Style Trailer Wiring Harness for 2002 Chevy Express Van
Question:
I see you have a few options, wondering how I would know if I need the one with the t connectors or just the regular 4 pin. My van is a 2002 chevy express, but it is a conversion van. I dont know if it had a tow packageinch on it or not. do you know where I would look on the van to see if it has some of the wiring already? Thanks.

You can check behind the Express van's passenger side trim panel in the rear cargo area to see if it has connection points for factory replacement wiring. Factory 4-pole items # 118240 and # C55240 both use the same type of square connector, shown in the linked image. If you find this type of connector then you have probably have the tow package; if so, you may need to install a fuse or relay to activate it.
If you do not have this factory wiring connection point then instead you can use one of the T-connector harnesses that will plug in at the van's taillight wiring. Of the three available products like this I recommend the Tekonska harness # 118377 because we find their wiring products to be the most reliable. An installation video is linked for your reference.
Please note that you can still use the Tekonsha harness # 118377 even if you do have the factory wiring.
