Sidewinder and Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for New Ram Towing Vilano 5th Wheel

Question:

Greetings. A little background. I had a factory installed Reese Revolution AKA sidewinder on a lightweight 5th wheel and a Ford F150. The Reese was perfect in every way however the 5gh wheel was not insulated very well. So, we got rid of the truck for an F350 dually and a new Vilano 5th wheel. Love it. I replaced the kingpin with a Reese Goose Ball bought from you folks and have loved the setup. Now, however, Ram is coming out with the new 3500 series and it is the only line that will offer a short bed dually I am in! My question is will the Reese Sidewinder allow me to make the 90 degree turns with the factory Ram goose ball/hitch prep package? The Vilano is a 101inch coach. Thanks in advance,

Since your 5th wheel trailer has a Lippert 1621 pin box there is a Reese Sidewinder that will fit it as part # RP34FR. This will allow a short bed truck like yours to make tight turns but you'll have to have a fifth wheel hitch installed in the factory rail kit.

For that the best option is the B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3600 with the custom wedge part # SWW-06. This hitch with the Sidewinder will give you the best fifth wheel towing setup around! The Companion is very easy to use, very reliable, made in the USA, and is considered by most to be the best hitch around.
