Does the Blue Brake Output Wire Need to be Run for the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
Apologies if this has been asked before but will using this brake controller prevent the need to tap into the brake switch when using Item # ETBC7?

The blue brake output wire does not need to be run while using the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 on your 2014 Ford Escape with the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. This is because the Curt Echo works entirely off of the deceleration of the vehicle as opposed to a standard proportional brake controller that first must receive a signal from the brake circuit. The only wire that must be ran when installing the Universal Installation Kit with the Curt Echo is the black 12 volt power wire and the white ground wire.
I have attached a sample install video of the Universal Installation Kit on a similar Ford Explorer which will give you a reference on how to run the black 12 volt power wire and the white ground wire.
