The van I want to install this hitch on is a 2000 Dodge 3500 15 passenger 1 ton van with factory step bumper I want to make sure it will fit properly and will just go on with no welding or drilling and will extend out far enough to clear the bumper and spare tire which is mounted underneath

The Curt trailer hitch part # 13590 is a confirmed fit for your 2000 Dodge 3500 full sized van with a step bumper. It will not require any drilling or welding to install either.

For your 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 van we have the Curt hitch part #C13041 as a confirmed fit but the #13590 is not what you would need. The cut out in the side of the mounting bracket is designed to fit around your gas tank feed line.
