If a vehicle owner's manual says that it cannot be flat towed this usually just means that it cannot be towed in stock form and may require some modifications before it can be towed, such as addition of a transmission lube pump or a driveline disconnect kit. 2WD versions often need a driveline disconnect or must use a tow dolly like # RM-2050-1. I checked with Roadmaster and they show the vehicle can be flat towed. However, I could not find a complete Dodge owner's manual online so I suggest re-checking your printed manual for more details on the prep needed to flat tow.
We do have base plates for the truck and I suggest Roadmaster MX kit # 246-5 that you referenced as long as the Durango does not have a brush guard. You can then use their Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 along with diode wiring kit # RM-15267 and safety cables # RM-643.
I recommend a portable braking system that is easy to install and that will allow you to move it to another vehicle in the future; Blue Ox's Patriot system # BLU37TRis a good choice along with brake light relay kit # RM-88400.
You can refer to the linked article on hitch high/low adapters to help selecting the right one to keep your connected tow bar level.
