How to Lock the Curt A25 OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch 16066
Question:
I have purchased a 2019 GMC 3500 long bed with the towing prep package. I would like to get your advice for securing my Curt A25 to the truck bed. I was going to purchase four small locks to replace the four safety pins. I later thought the locks could be compromised with a simple crescent wrench. Another idea would use the goose neck part of the towing prep package with a chain and lock. I have not come up with a good way of attaching the chain without interfering with hitch travel.

The only way I can see fit to secure the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16066 to your 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 would be by replacing the security pins with padlocks as you mentioned. The correct size padlock for you is the Master Lock Padlock part # 131D. The nuts that hold the legs to the feet could be removed with an open ended wrench (crescent is likely too bulky) but they would also need a pair of pliers to remove the cotter pin and they would have to do this for all four sides. This is all on top of lifting up a 170 lb hitch which is not something most humans are capable of.
We don't have any 100% foolproof ways to secure the hitch but I think the idea of using padlocks is your best bet.
