Are 5th Wheel or Gooseneck Hitches Better for Towing
Question:
Which is a better hitch 5th or goose

It really just depends on what the trailer you are towing was originally built for and what you plan on using the trailer for. If you have a gooseneck trailer then a gooseneck hitch is best but if you have a 5th wheel trailer then a 5th wheel hitch is best. Gooseneck trailers are generally used for off-road use (like around farms) and so the gooseneck hitch ball connection provides more rotation for the uneven ground but 5th wheel hitches provide a better towing experience if you will be on the road.
If you will be towing both gooseneck and 5th wheel trailers with your tow vehicle then the best option out there comes from B&W with their Turnoverball gooseneck hitch and their Companion 5th wheel hitch. The gooseneck hitch lets you tow gooseneck trailers but then also doubles as a receiver for the Companion # BWRVK3500 for long bed or # BWRVK3400 for short beds.
Let me know what the year/make/model of your pickup is and I can make a recommendation for the B&W setup or a different hitch depending on what you plan on towing.
