Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Mazda CX-5
Question:
I have a 2018 Mazda CX-5 I need to install a trailer hitch on so that I can tow my camper trailer, what should I get?

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2018 Mazda CX-5 is the Draw Tite part # 76138 because it has a 2 inch hitch opening (most accessories are made for this size), it has plenty of towing capacity, and because it has a hidden crosstube which makes it a bit less visible too. See picture. I also attached an install video for the hitch.
For trailer wiring the kit I recommend is the T-One kit part # 118746 because it does not require splicing to your vehicle's taillights and because it has the most reliable converter box of the available kits.
Since you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
