Using Malone MegaWing Kayak Carrier on Trailer to Secure Old Town Fishing Kayak
Question:
I have a Old Town 13.5foot PDL Fishing Kayak that weighs 117-120 pounds. I have a double kayak Continental trailer and it has two horizontal bunks but nothing to stabilize my kayak. Can I mount the MegaWing on the wood bunk and will it work with the Old Town?

The Malone MegaWing Kayak Carrier # MPG207 referenced in your question is a great option for your Old Town Fishing Kayak that weighs around 120 pounds. The MegaWing is made specifically for heavier fishing kayaks like this and its 150 pound weight capacity is more than enough to safely support it.
The carrier is designed to mount to a couple of crossbars that are up to 4-1/4 inches wide so you will need to fabricate a rack to mount to your trailer's frame or you can use something like the Malone Crossbar Conversion Kit # MPG475. This kit uses U-bolts and brackets to secure two crossbars to an open frame trailer like what you have. I have attached an image of the system installed along with the written installation instructions so you can see exactly how it works.
This will allow you to mount the Malone Kayak Carrier and your Old Town Kayak to your existing trailer.
