Derale Engine Oil Cooler for 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4
Question:
I’m interested in a small engine oil cooler like part# D15602 you sell. Is this something that would fit my fj? I already have a transmission cooler installed. Regards.

Yes, you can use Derale Oil Cooler kit # D15602 in your FJ Cruiser.
A supplementary oil cooler like the Derale # D15602 is a great way to keep your engine oil temperature in the ideal 180 to 200-degree Fahrenheit range. This Class III cooler kit includes a sandwich adapter and a range of sleeve nuts to ensure a proper match to the threads on your oil filter landing (where your oil filter currently mounts).
The best place to mount the cooler core is in front of your AC condenser where it will receive the most air flow for best cooling efficiency. This will provide an oil temperature reduction of up to 50 degrees which extends the life of your oil between changes. The kit is complete with all connectors, oil lines, clamps and mounting components.
You will just want to make sure that the 2-inches of added depth from the sandwich adapter (which goes in between the filter and the filter mount) will not block removal of the filter for oil changes. This part is shown in the linked photo and it has arrow indicators to show you which of the ports is for input and output. You may find you need to add a bit more oil at your next oil change to account for the additional fluid volume capacity of the oil lines and adapter, perhaps a couple of ounces at most.
The written instructions for this kit are linked for you.
