Can Gen-Y 10K Adjustable Stacked Ball Mount 325-GH-315 Be Used for Winch Mount on Car Trailer
Question:
Have a 3/4 ton diesel PU AND 20 ft alum car hauler tandem axle trailer 10000# gross capacity. Want to use in the rise position with an 8000# winch/cradle in top position as my alum trailer doesn’t lend itself to winch install directly on the trailer. Will this GenY handle the moment/torsion when winching a 4500# vehicle on to the trailer? What max weight can I winch in this configuration?

Gen-Y 10K Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-315 is suitable for your application holding a winch mount and winch for pulling cars onto your trailer.
In this horizontal line pull configuration the winching force/car weight will appear to the ball mount to be just like trailer weight so the ball mount can be used with up to a 10K load, or up to the capacity of your winch mount, winch or its cable or strap. Naturally the hitch on your diesel pickup also needs to be rated appropriately.
You just need to make sure that the winch cable or strap is not pulling at a down angle. It needs to be straight to avoid the car's weight from being applied like tongue weight (down-force) on the Gen-Y mount. The mount does have a substantial 1500-lb tongue weight rating but just the same you'll want to keep the cable or strap as close to level as possible.
