How do I remove the bumper. What size wrench or allen key required to fit the bumper bolt.

Installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2430 on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 does indeed require you to first remove the factory rubber jounce bumpers on the truck. I spoke with my contact at Firestone and he said that all you will need to do this is an extension and a socket wrench. He said most likely a 10mm socket will do the trick but there are some 2015 Silverados that will need a bigger size. Your best bet is to simply try a 10mm first and change if needed to a larger size.

I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.

It's a 10mm socket with an extension to remove the rubber jounce bumper; however, the mounting bracket for the air springs will not fit over the small mounting "bowl" that the jounce bumper fits into. Does this "bowl" need to be cut off? There is a smoothe (no bolt head) inside the frame support, but nothing to get a wrench on to remove it. I had though it was just sitting there, compressed between the frame support and the jounce bumper, but a mini-sledge hammer and a wrecking bar wouldn't budge it. Any ideas?
