Dimensions and Installation Location Options for SMI Stay-IN-Play Duo Supplemental Braking Switch
Question:
What is the dimensions of the small box labeled vacuum brake that mounts next to your left foot in a 2018 Jeep Wrangler? Is there a better option for a place to mount it?

Expert Reply:
The small box of the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251 can be mounted in any location you desire inside the cabin of the vehicle. The orientation of the box is important but the location is not. You can see it mounted in a different location at the 3:10 mark of the attached video. We have mounted it in glove boxes, the passenger side of the center console, and in the rear cargo area.
The box measures overall 4-1/2 inches long, 3-1/8 inches wide, and 2-1/4 inches deep. I've attached a photo to assist. The mounting holes are 3-1/2 inches on center.
