If your 2008 Ford pickup is an F-150 model then you will need to use one of two brake controller wiring harnesses. If your brake controller has 4-wire plug in the back of it for a plug and play wiring harness you will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3035-P, and if your brake controller has blunt cut wires at the back you will need the Tow Ready Wiring Adapter, # 3035-S.
If your 2008 Ford pickup is an F-250 or F-350 model then you will need a different harness. If your brake controller has 4-wire plug in the back of it for a plug and play wiring harness you will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3034-P, and if your brake controller has blunt cut wires at the back you will need the Tow Ready Wiring Adapter, # 3034-S.
If you do not have a brake controller for your pickup yet, I would recommend the P-3 brake controller, # 90195, along with the appropriate wiring harness mentioned above. The P-3 brake controller is gets great reviews by our customers and is easy to install and set up.
