For your B&W hitch, the lube plate will help reduce wear and make sure you don't end up with a greasy mess. Because your king pin lock won't fit on with your lube plate, you can remove it and reinstall for each use or you can get a different lock or lube plate. The locks and lube plates come in different thicknesses, so you determine the best option for your desires.

The Blaylock EZ Lock King Pin Lock for 5th Wheel Trailers - Aluminum # BLTL-70-40D only requires 1/2 inch above the king pin recess.

The Husky Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 10" Diameter # HT34914 is 3/16 inches thick, the Curt # 16721 is 3/16 inches thick, and the Reese # RP83002 is 0.192 inches which is just a hair thicker.
