Noise Level Inside Vehicle When Adding a Roof Rack

Question:

What level of sound does this rack give you inside the vehicle? Is there a humming or any noticeable noise?

The Rola 59833 does not give a decibel increase when the rack is installed as that will change based on speed and change with the weather conditions.

Most roof rack systems will have a noticeable sound because you are changing the aerodynamics of your vehicle by adding the crossbars. The bulkier the system the more noise, so square bars and bulky towers will be the worst offenders. The Rola rack you asked about has very sleek lines with aero crossbars for a more factory appearance as well as towers designed for minimal noise. There are even rubber covers for the t-slot in the top of the bar to reduce noise.

If you want to further reduce noise, I recommend adding a wind fairing. The Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks - 38" Long # RRRF2 is my recommendation for this particular roof rack which will direct the wind over your crossbar to further reduce that wind noise a roof rack will add.
