Troubleshooting Voyager Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
voyager brake controller I have power on the blue wire coming off of the brake controller with out the lever or breaks being pushed, Is this correct? I am not seeing the break controller light up when the trailer is connected. I have power to the black wire and red wire when the brakes are pushed.

It sounds like you do not have your controller wired correctly. The black wire going into your controller should have constant power. The blue wire coming out of your controller should only have power when the manual override is hit or when your brakes are applied while moving since the Voyager # 39510 is a proportional controller. The red wire should have signal only when the brake pedal is pressed. If it has power when the pedal is not pressed, then it is either connected to the wrong side of the stop light switch or switch has gone bad. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test these.
The other possible issue is that your 7-way may need to be cleaned up. Over time corrosion can build up causing the controller to not read function properly or for pin functions to overlap and cause trailer function issues. I recommend cleaning the connections with some sand paper or steel wool and then using dielectric grease # 11755 to keep moisture and debris out.
