No Trailer Connected Screen with Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
I have 2014 Silverado 1500 and I bought the controller 90195 and wire harness and I installed it with watching your great video. I plugged trailer in and controller says no trailer attached or unplugged. I also have a plug in tester that you can check lights, signals, 12v power abd brake, but no brake. I checked 30 amp fuse under hood and its fine. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks

I don't have reference to the fuse amperage ratings on your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 but the fuse you would have wanted to check is in the #1 position on the fuse box under the hood. If this is the fuse that you checked then great, we can move onto the next step. The next step is to make sure you are using the correct adapter. If you have the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 then you should be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3016.
If both the fuse and adapter are good to go then the only other cause I can think of is a broken blue brake output wire. Unfortunately, the only real way to find this is to physically trace the wire back from the trailer connector to the brake controller while looking for breaks. You can use a circuit tester and test the wire at different points but if you can't find the break then it would be easiest and most cost effective to just run a new one with part # 10-1-1 (per foot).
